IIJNM - A Place To BE

Being a JOURNALIST isn't easy and I mean it. I don't know if you feel I'm praising IIJNM (India Institute of Journalism and New Media) but I definitely have fallen in love with this institution and the way they train us. The essence of Hardcore journalism is taught here where a journalist must be aware of what's constantly happening around him/her. As a trainee journalist at this institute, I've started to learn how a journalist's job is not a 9 to 5 job and there is no end to this job. No retirement plans. Constantly look for stories, look beyond the obvious, analyze what u see, analyze what u don't see and understand a topic from every perspective in order to be neutral(unbiased) in professional life.
As a journalist, there's a lot to learn, every minute, every hour, every day and throughout the year. Somewhere down the lane, I want to be someone who has done something good for the society and be a part of the change and initiate it in order to bring about the change. I do not know how I'm going to do it, but I will do it someday. It is something I always wanted to and loved doing. I enjoy doing this course and there is no end to this field which is the BEST part about it. Nothing like it.
I love what I do and enjoy doing it and that's why I chose JOURNALISM .....What a pleasure to be in this field! But, yes, with it comes a sense of responsibility - personal as well as social. Passion, hard work, dedication, a lot of reading, curiosity, observation are the vital components one needs to have. And this is where I BELONG!!!!
Looking forward to be a true JOURNALIST...... :):):):):)
